I'm actually glad it broke. That crappy product had poor suction, never picked up the sludge/debris. It had 3-year warranty but what a scam. Replaced it with Laguna Max-flo 2900 and what a difference! The suction is great and the debris gets filtered out nicely (I have a Pondmaster filter). My waterfall stream is now more full and looks energetic. Installation was snap with those snapping connectors. This pump costs less, works better, consumes less power and looks cleaner.
